Genki Tea

Overview:

I was tasked with creating a box design for tea. The brand positioning statement is for young adults aged 20-30 who need a refreshing drink that can keep them both happy and healthy, this refreshing tea provides both the energy of coffee and the serenity and peacefulness of tea because every drink provides a dose of caffeine, vitamins, and antioxidants with exotic ingredients from Japan so that you can truly live at your fullest through the day.

Even though the focus is imported ingredients from Japan, consumers will be too intimidated by very Japanese styled packaging and the goal became to symbolize and bring Japan to the viewer without going overboard with the design so they are scared away. My strategy was to use close up images of nature from Japan and icons to give a friendly sense.

I chose a very stylized font called Tomarik for the logo to give an exotic vibe and I used a very simple and elegant looking serif font for the other text. I also had a bit of bias towards the name of the font.
